Gran Premio di Singapore 2018 a Marina Bay: chi ha vinto, chi ha perso, sintesi e statistiche

L’ordine d’arrivo. Hamilton su Verstappen e Vettel, a punti Bottas, Raikkonen, Ricciardo, Alonso, Sainz, Leclerc e Hulkenberg. Ritirato Ocon.

Il momento chiave. La qualifica, dove la storia del Gran Premio prende una piega favorevole a Mercedes che trova i decimi per stare davanti mentre crollano Vettel e la rossa, l’antipasto alla debacle dolorosa della gara.

Chi ha vinto. Hamilton, da leader assoluto, solitario ma vigile. Il migliore, per piede e testa: respinge Verstappen quando Grosjean gli fa perdere due secondi nel doppiaggio, dimostra che lui un occhio sullo specchietto ce l’ha sempre. E quindi non gliela si fa:

I think I was unlucky with the traffic. These guys were moving around. Max was a bit lucky again with some of the guys in terms of what point in the track he caught them, and they wouldn’t let me by. But it was definitely close and my heart was in my mouth for a minute.

Chi ha perso. La Ferrari sotto il profilo tecnico. A 40 secondi da Hamilton, 30 da Verstappen. Deprimente oltre che preoccupante, anche perché Vettel a un certo punto non credeva nemmeno nel podio:

The strategy was to get ahead of Lewis, which obviously didn’t work and then it was a pity we lost the second place. After that the main focus was on defending third position and I wasn’t very confident that we could make it to the end, but fortunately we did.

Il peggiore. Perez che sbatte Ocon a muro alla partenza e più avanti assesta una sportellata a Sirotkin, probabilmente di frustrazione. In merito alla volontarietà del contatto, non è del tutto certa la Fia.

Le penalità. Drive through a Perez per il contatto con Sirotkin. Cinque secondi a Grosjean che nella lotta con Sirotkin rompe il ritmo e le palle a Hamilton, un episodio – questo sì – su cui Whiting è fermo:

Romain just completely forgot the golden rule of blue flags and that’s if you’re in a battle you’ve got to forget your own battle and move over. It was probably one of the worst cases of ignoring blue flags that I’ve seen for a long time.

Pirelli dice. La gara conta 24 pit stop. Lo stint più lungo è di Vettel, 47 giri su gomma ultrasoft.

Le statistiche. I primi sei arrivano al traguardo nelle stesse posizioni di partenza, nella storia è successo solo un’altra volta: a Monaco, quest’anno. Per vittorie e pole a Singapore, sono alla pari adesso Hamilton e Vettel, 4 a 4. Magnussen su ipersoft nuove di zecca fa il giro veloce in gara, il primo personale, il primo per l’Haas.
